My name is Prithi Vohra, and I welcome you to Smart.thevohras.com.
Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to serve, travel, meet people from different cultures and learn from a wide variety of experiences. This website is an extension of that experience, created with one simple purpose: to help people protect themselves and their families from scams and fraud.
From the Indian Army to a Life of Learning
I served in the Indian Army, an experience that taught me the importance of discipline, responsibility, awareness and, above all, looking after others.
Army life also taught me an important lesson that applies equally well to today’s digital world: being prepared is always better than being caught unprepared.
Today, scams and frauds have become increasingly sophisticated. Criminals use telephone calls, emails, text messages, social media, fake websites, artificial intelligence and even impersonation to deceive innocent people.
I believe that awareness is one of our strongest defenses.
A World Traveler
Over the years, I have had the privilege of travelling extensively and visiting many countries. Travel has allowed me to experience different societies, cultures and ways of life.
It has also taught me to be observant, cautious and adaptable—qualities that are just as valuable when dealing with the modern world of online communication and digital transactions.
Serving Through Rotary
I have also had the privilege of serving as President of a Rotary International Club.
Rotary’s spirit of service and its emphasis on helping others have influenced the way I look at life. I believe that knowledge becomes more valuable when it is shared and can help someone avoid a problem.
That is one of the reasons I created this website.
Why Smart.thevohras.com?
Scams are no longer limited to strangers offering suspicious deals. Today, a scammer may pretend to be your bank, a government official, a police officer, a technology company, a delivery service, an employer—or even someone you know.
The purpose of Smart.thevohras.com is to make information about scams and fraud simple, practical and easy to understand.
Here you will find information covering:
- Scam Alerts – understanding new and emerging scams.
- Online Scams – phishing, fake websites, social media scams and other digital threats.
- Financial Fraud – banking, investment, payment and money-related scams.
- Impersonation & Social Engineering – understanding how criminals manipulate trust and emotions.
- Protect Yourself – practical steps to reduce your risk and respond when something goes wrong.
I do not want this to be a website that simply tells you that a particular scam exists. I want it to help you understand how the scam works, how to recognize the warning signs and what you can do to protect yourself.
My Philosophy
I believe that you do not have to be an expert in technology to stay safer.
A little awareness, a moment of caution and the willingness to verify before acting can sometimes prevent a great deal of trouble.
My guiding principle is simple:
Stop. Think. Verify. Then Act.
If something appears urgent, frightening, too good to be true or simply doesn’t feel right, take a moment before responding.
I hope the information on this website will help you become more confident and better prepared—and that you will share useful information with your family and friends as well.
Thank you for visiting Smart.thevohras.com.
Regards,
Prithi Vohra
